He is board certified by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry (ABCC) and a fellow of the AACC Academy. His areas of research interest are pre-analytical errors, biomarkers of kidney disease, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry in the clinical laboratory and artificial intelligence and machine learning. Dr. El-Khoury also serves on the SYCL Core Committee and is the chair of SYCL360, an online video resource for career advice and information for young clinical chemists.
