As a clinical scientist, Dr. Boraei is responsible to serve the hospital by introducing new assays and to make sure that only reliable patients results are released.
Since Dec 2014, Dr. Boraei is a member of both the Scientific Council for Applied Health Sciences and Laboratory Scientific Committee in Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS). In addition to many other tasks, Dr. Boraei wrote the curriculum for the Saudi Board in Clinical Biochemistry program. The program has been recently approved and it will be commissioned by 2017.
In Jan 2014. Dr. Boraei has become Assistant Professor (JA) at King Saud University, College of Medicine and recently Applied Medical Sciences-Jeddah. Currently, Dr. Boraei is a research scientist (JA) at King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC-WR). His research interests focus on metabolic syndrome including prediabetes, diabetes, insulin resistance, cardiovascular disease, obesity and topics related to biological variations and reference intervals.
Dr. Boraei published about 35 peer-reviewed articles including original, review, letters and about 30 published posters. He established and published for the first time, the reference intervals for clinical biochemistry parameters in Saudi population which are in use in many clinical laboratories.
