She then completed a Clinical Chemistry Fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri and obtained board certification in clinical chemistry (ABCC). Dr. Baumann has been active in the AACC, serves on the board for the Commission for Accreditation in Clinical Chemistry (ComACC) and is the program director of the clinical chemistry fellowship training program at Mayo Clinic. She is also an author on the recently updated CLSI C24 guideline entitled Statistical Quality Control for Quantitative Measurement Procedures: Principles and Definitions.
Dr. Baumann’s interests include improving quality in the automated clinical laboratory and developing processes that enhance error detection and minimize the risk of patient harm.
